How much do Custom Cakes cost anyway?

There is no simple answer to this question. When a Cake Artist prices a cake, there are many variable that are taken into consideration. Of course there are the ingredients, like butter, sugar, eggs and flour(and the price of good has increased exponentially!), but there are other things to consider, as well, The structure that goes into tiered cakes adds to the cost. Things like cake boards and boxes also add to the cost. Fondant decorations and chocolate work and the overall cake design will also increase the price of the cake. So what should you expect?

Generally, custom cakes in the area range about $4 per serving to $10 per serving depending on the Cake Artist. So, If you need a cake to serve 15 people, you will probably require a minimum of an 8 inch round. These cakes provide about 20-24 servings. Thus, based on the minimum price average, you should expect the cake price starting at $96. Comments in response to this cake range from, “Ninety-six dollars for an eight inch cake? It’s flour, sugar and eggs!” to “NO, thank you!” But to consider, A recent comparison of chain stores revealed that Publix charges $370 for a cake that serves 75 people. That means that they are charging a minimum of $4.93 per serving for a basic white cake before tax, with limited flavors, fillings, and NO customization. In comparison, with a Custom Cake Bakery, you are usually offered more flavors, fillings and always personal customization. Besides the obvious benefits, know that most Custom Cake Artist go out of their way to make the cake of your dreams fit into your budget, add amazing details, and produce over the top, beautiful and amazing cakes!

BakeArt Studio is a custom cookies and cake studio. We often work in small batch operations therefore all of our desserts are made fresh to order. The information you provide us below will help us better understand your needs. Please note that all orders are ONLY accepted with confirmed details and at least 72hrs prior delivery date. Please inquire as early as possible to secure dates of our accommodation to your event date. Please share in as much detail as desirable, the story, the theme and color scheme of your event. THINGS TO KNOW WHEN ORDERING

  • Please be mindful that this is just an order inquiry. We will contact you via email or phone within 24 hours of your inquiry submission to consult about your order. Once your order has been confirmed via consultation, we will draft an invoice to collect the deposit for your order. 

  • All orders require a 50% non-refundable deposit before start-off any project. This deposit will confirm your event date, the purchase of your materials and the execution of your order. The remaining balance must be paid prior to or at the time of your pickup. Pickup location will be provided on your invoice. Please note, we will start working on your project once deposit is received, therefore delay on deposit will cause delay of your project. Thank you for your understanding!

  • Please allow up to 24 hours for our reply to your order submission.

  • Orders must be placed a minimum of 14 days in advance. All orders that are requested under a 2 week advance notice, will have a rush fee applied that is determined based on the size and intricacy of your order. 

  • Orders can be available for pick up or delivery. Delivery starts at $25.
